Our secondary glazing is all made using top quality aluminium and glass. It is used mainly to either reduce sound if properties are near a road, or to greatly increase the thermal attributes of a property if the windows can not be changed (Such as a listed building).
We have 5 main options for secondary glazing depending on how much sound/heat you are trying to cut out and what type of windows the property already has.
The most simple window to install, it keeps frame size to a minimum and will greatly improve sound and thermal efficiency.
One of the simplest designs and is usually installed on windows which are fairly small. If you purchase large lift out windows they can be heavy and harder to remove for cleaning.
If you have a large fixed window then a horizontal slider could allow you to easily clean and maintain the space. They are all made to bespoke sizes so we can match the position of any vertical bars.
A vertical sliding secondary glazed window is ideal if the property already has sliding sash windows. It is also available with a tilt function to allow for easy cleaning and maintenance without needing to fully remove or take down the window.
A hinged casement window can be double glazed and would be the best option if the main reason for installing it is to reduce heat or sound. It is slightly more expensive than the other options due to the mechanisms and amount of time and materials needed to make them.
